Home Style Poutine
So yesterday I made Poutine for supper. I took some pics and thought I would share. :)

Cutting the potatoes. Bigger potatoes would have been better, but whatever. I only had the little ones.

Sunflower oil.

I don’t have a deep fryer, so I just use a pot. Turn the stove on high.

Once the oil is plenty hot, put the potatoes in. I shouldn’t have to tell you to be careful when dealing with hot oil.

It wouldn’t be Poutine without hot gravy. Get your gravy wherever you can! I prefer beef gravy, and mine came from a can.

The fries are ready to come out.

I use brown paper bags to soak the oil out. Save the oil and reuse it for next time.

You gotta use proper cheese curds! This is a must! They should squeak when you bite into them. The best cheese curds come from Quebec.

Put the fries in your bowl, mix in the cheese curds, pour on the hot gravy and serve!

bon appétit!
